About

Currently

I completed my Computer Engineering degree at Istanbul Arel University in February 2026. These days, I'm working on the technical infrastructure for a startup: Rust and Python on the backend, and TypeScript on the frontend.

Besides that, I'm writing a ground control station for the TEKNOFEST 2026 Combat UAV category. It's a project heavily focused on C++17 and Qt 6.

I'm based in Istanbul. I'm open to remote work.

Background

I started my undergraduate studies at Istanbul Arel University in September 2021 and finished in February 2026. My GPA is 3.19/4.00. I was a High Honor Student during the 2024–2025 academic year, and my graduation project received an AA grade.

In the fall of 2023, I spent a semester in Lithuania at Šiaulių Valstybinė Kolegija through Erasmus+. I took courses in operating systems, database management systems, SQL, and algorithm design.

In the summer of 2024, I interned with the IT department at the Istanbul Büyükçekmece Municipality. I developed an enterprise inventory management system using .NET Framework and Blazor. I also generated bug reports from UI and functional tests for the Bücep mobile app. During the same period, I mentored three interns through the code review process.

Projects

Here are a few projects I've pushed to production so far:

TyphoonGCS. A ground control station I developed for the TEKNOFEST 2026 Combat UAV category. Built with C++17 and Qt 6, it features A* path planning, physics simulation, and object detection using ONNX Runtime.

Dental AI. A panoramic radiography research project where we labeled 1,686 masks with dentists and trained four models on an H100 GPU. We hit an mAP50 of 0.885, and the process resulted in two international publications.

DBS Kuzgun. A SaaS platform for associate professorship applications that generates citation files in the YÖK format. Beyond the backend, it uses a Python microservice for PDF processing and DOI-based citation matching. dbs.kuzgun.tr

Soru Kayısı. A real-time quiz platform. It features a WebSocket backend capable of handling over 500 concurrent users (p95 < 100 ms) and a live leaderboard. sorukayisi.com

Publications

I have two international publications on medical image segmentation:

  1. "Detection of periapical lesions in teeth with fixed prostheses using segmentation models and analyzing crown–lesion relationships." The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry (Elsevier), 2025. doi.org/10.1016/j.prosdent.2025.11.045

  2. "A Two-Stage Deep Learning Approach Using YOLO11 and U-Net for Detection and Segmentation of Caries Under Crowns in Panoramic Radiographs." European Journal of Therapeutics, 2026. doi.org/10.58600/eurjther2981

My technical side

I spend most of my time with Rust and Python. For the web, I use TypeScript and Vue/Nuxt; for desktop, I'm using C++17 and Qt 6. Aside from these, I know SQL, JavaScript, C#, and a bit of Kotlin.

On the database side, I've worked primarily with PostgreSQL and occasionally MySQL. In machine learning, I've used PyTorch, Ultralytics YOLO, OpenCV, and TensorFlow. On the server side, I've spent quite a bit of time with Docker, Nginx, Linux, and Proxmox.

My English level is B2.
